4 Pines Beer Plants Seeds of Change at Lake George
Lake George, October – 4 Pines Brewing Co. is proud to continue its partnership with Landcare Australia by supporting the large-scale revegetation of Lakelands, a sixth-generation family farm on the shores of Lake George, 7km north of Bungendore, NSW.
As part of 4 Pines’ ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship through their membership with 1% for the Planet, the brewery is funding the planting of 44,444 native trees, shrubs & groundcovers. The project is designed to restore eroded riparian zones, increase biodiversity, and create a continuous wildlife corridor linking existing bushland with the lake.
The project has officially kicked off, with the 4 Pines team rolling up their sleeves to plant more than 600 native tube stock alongside Landcare Australia. with the remainder scheduled for phased planting events at optimal times to maximise establishment and survival rates.
Dom Osborne, brings more than 50 years of experience in agriculture. His family has farmed the property since 1865, and today he is dedicating 15% of the land to conservation. “Our goal is to heal erosion, slow creek flows, and provide safe habitat for native wildlife, from the vulnerable white-fronted chat to wedge-tailed eagles,” says Dom.
The Lake George project also sits alongside a forward-looking renewable energy plan. From 2025, Dom and his family will install a solar farm generating 300MW of power and 250MW of DC battery storage, enough clean energy to power more than 100,000 Sydney homes.
Sarah Turner, Environmental & Social Impact Advisor at 4 Pines Beer, says "The Lake George planting is a special project that reflects what we value at 4 Pines, doing good stuff for people and the planet. Partnering with landscape restoration experts Landcare Australia and farmer Dom Osborne, we’re helping restore biodiversity, improve waterways, and create habitat for vulnerable species to thrive. It’s about rolling up our sleeves and leaving the world a little better than we found it."
Dr. Shane Norrish, CEO of Landcare Australia, added
